David Ellis (b. 1994, Fort Worth, Texas) is a photographer and graphic designer dedicated to documenting and advocating for public school education. His work captures the spirit, resilience and achievements of students, educators and communities, using imagery to tell the often-overlooked stories within public schools.
Since 2016, Ellis has worked in public education, serving students in the classroom. For the past two years, he has focused on photography and design in Crowley, Texas, working as a digital content administrator for the district and serving 17,000 students. His work has been recognized at the local and state level in higher education, earning awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association for its powerful visual narratives. By way of portraiture, documentary photography and graphic design, Ellis creates images that celebrate moments and people who shape public education today.
Ellis enjoys traveling and discovering new areas, capturing authentic, unscripted photos of his surroundings. His work embraces the organic, honest and unpredictable.
